Paul Silver from Jersey Beat had kind words about Palm Ghosts’ surprise release, Love Factions. This is what he says:

Palm Ghosts return with a surprise EP release! Well, more of a mini-LP, because it’s 7 tracks in 26 minutes, so a bit more than a typical EP. And the band has never sounded better. They have absolutely locked in on their unique blend of '80s new wave, goth, and modern dream pop. The band sounds tighter than ever. And Joseph Lekkas’ baritone vocals are spot on for this genre. “Damn the Romantics” is absolutely lovely, a perfect leadoff for the record, with gorgeous strings and a lively bright feel. I adore the melodic lines, with the strings giving parts of the song a renaissance music dance vibe. “Mysterious” follows, aptly titled, and with a wonderfully complex arrangement that makes me think of David Byrne projects. And I adore the breeze quality of “Snake Wedding.” Another favorite is “Peripherals,” with its swirling winding melody and the shimmering synths that remind me of a rapidly strummed mandolin, making this another song that has an ancient music vibe. All the songs are so good, and this has become my favorite Palm Ghosts release to date. Now if they’ll only tour out to the west coast!
